About us
KORNELIA RATAJ is a Polish swimwear brand founded in 2016. From the very beginning, it has been built on minimalist design, feminine silhouettes, high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The brand’s history has its roots in a family tradition of sewing. Its founder, Kornelia Rataj, watched her mother working at the sewing machine from a very young age, and she developed her interest in fashion and design whilst studying at the International School of Costume and Fashion Design, from which she graduated in 2017 with a degree in fashion design.

KORNELIA RATAJ’s first designs were created in a small, 10-metre studio in her family home. It was there that the brand’s story began, and over the following years it developed its own aesthetic, collections and production facilities.
From the first workshop to our own production facilities.
As the brand grew, so too did the space in which subsequent collections were created. In 2018, the studio moved to a larger, 40-metre space, housing both a warehouse and a design area. It was there that designs and prototype models were developed, whilst production took place at an external, partner sewing workshop.
Another important phase began in 2023. In Czernica, near Jelenia Góra, following a thorough conversion of an old barn, KORNELIA RATAJ’s studio – measuring nearly 300 metres – was established, complete with its own sewing workshop.
From that point onwards, the brand’s collections have been created locally – from the design and development of the first prototypes through to the sewing and finishing of the finished products. Having our own workshop allows us to have direct control over the entire production process, the quality of workmanship and every detail.

Today, KORNELIA RATAJ is a brand developed by a team of people who are involved in every stage of its operation – from design and production to the preparation of products and the fulfilment of orders.
We create our collections with a focus on quality, functionality and timeless style. We prioritise well-thought-out designs, carefully selected materials and local production, which allows us to oversee the entire process of creating our products.
Although KORNELIA RATAJ is evolving and changing, its core principle remains the same – to create refined collections in Poland that combine minimalist design, high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
